Mission Statement

STFC is a non-profit organization serving youth players from the Lake Tahoe Basin wanting to play competitive club soccer. STFC competes in the Great Basin Youth Soccer League and boasts a nationally licensed coaching staff committed to player development and having fun in a serious soccer environment. STFC’s goals are to develop its players and teams in order to successfully compete for league and state championships, and to aid in the continued success with our community’s high school soccer programs that have won numerous state championships and have established themselves among the most successful prep programs in the state in their respective classifications. STFC aims to improve players’ technical, tactical, physical and psycho-social abilities to achieve their ultimate individual goals, whether that is at the high school varsity level, advancement within the Olympic Development Program (Nevada) or PDP (NorCal) programs, or if they choose to play intercollegiate soccer at any level beyond STFC.
STFC aims to make soccer affordable for everyone in this community and works with existing recreational entities to ensure all players in this community can have fun and achieve their individual goals with soccer, and have the ability to play soccer.

STFC achieves its mission by hiring and acquiring a highly qualified, committed technical staff that is dedicated to the betterment of youth soccer in the Lake Tahoe Basin and adheres to the club’s mission statement. The club is always considering ways to improve its personnel to aid its efforts in achieving the benchmarks identified in the club mission statement.

STFC seeks quality youth soccer coaches determined to advance the level of play – both individually and as a team – in our community, but it also strongly encourages its coaches to engage in professional development opportunities when available, including but not limited to coaching licensing programs sanctioned by the United States Soccer Federation (USSF) and the National Soccer Coaching Association of America (NSCAA).

To ensure this happens, both from an existing staff perspective and in an attempt to hire new staff members in the future, STFC is committed to growing its annual budget to attract, attain and/or cultivate the best credentialed coaches and hold them to the highest standard by implementing and executing a training program that challenges players technically, tactically, physically and mentally. In doing so, the club will recruit players from surrounding communities if those players believe STFC is the best place to pursue their individual soccer goals.
