Scholarships at South Tahoe Futbol Club

STFC does not believe money should be a barrier to any player's participation in the Club.  Therefore, we have set money aside in our budget for player scholarships to help defer the costs of playing soccer for STFC.

FALL 2020 Scholarship deadline:
 

• All Scholarship Applications due by September 4th, 2020
• Scholarship grants awarded by September 30th, 2020
• Scholarship Applications collected by each Team and submitted together to the Club.
• Scholarship Applications can be mailed individually to Club PO Box:

Who is eligible?

All STFC players are eligible to submit scholarship requests.

HOW OFTEN CAN ONE APPLY?
Players can apply for STFC Scholarships in the Fall and Spring.
 
How much is available per player?

The scholarship amount granted will be between $25 – $75 per player.

HOW CAN THE SCHOLARSHIP MONIES BE USED?
Money can be used for all STFC club related expenses.
 

How do I submit?

The player or parent will submit a scholarship request form and the player must write an accompanying essay.

How are the scholarships reviewed?

A sub-committee of the STFC Board will review all scholarship requests. The sub-committee will determine the award amount, and may consult the player's head coach or manager during this process.

How is the money distributed?
Once all scholarships are reviewed, the club will alert each team individually of the approval, and amount awarded to each player who requested and received a scholarship. The teams will then be able to reduce the relevant team fees a player owes, or the player may be reimbursed directly.
 
Can anyone be denied?

Yes. If a player has been placed in bad standing with South Tahoe Futbol Club, NorCal Premier or US Club Soccer.

Will recipient of scholarship funds be required to do anything else?

Each scholarship recipient may be asked to perform 3 hours of community service for the club.
